Train Travel in the UK

Hello there...

So I will be traveling to the UK later in the month and want to take some day-trips from London.

I plan on taking the train as opposed to driving...and as I look for prices I keep ending up at this website:

http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/

Is this the right one? I plan on going to Salisbury and Cardiff (two separate days)

It looks like buying tickets at the station is very expensive, so I want to get things ahead of time if possible, but wanted to make sure I wasn't accidentally taking "Amtrak" when I could be taking a commuter rail. (Using US terms here, I know the UK system is different)

I would usually use www.thetrainline.com

Train prices over here can go up and down, depending on the demand so keep your eye on the prices.

Yorkshire is a place. Yorkshire is a state of mind.

I was travelling by train once when I was moving to the US from the UK, but that was not long. I hired Starkmovers https://starkmovers.com/moving-from-boston-to-new-mexico/ when I was Moving from Boston to New Mexico.
