An online site for indie films (and shorts, too)
I just joined the management team of a Lifestyle & Entertainment company called Vendngmachine.com. We are piloting a new service -- video streaming of limited release indie films.
I got the idea after the indie film I co-produced (Dinner With Ana) entered its 20th film festival. It occurred to my Director and our business partners that SO MANY GOOD INDIE FILMS MAY NEVER BE SEEN OUTSIDE THE FESTIVAL CIRCUIT!
We want to cut out the middlemen--the distribution companies--and open up the playing field for independent filmmakers to get their film seen by more people without signing their rights away.
Would you pay to watch indie films that you cannot normally view outside of local film festivals?
What do you think would be a fair price per viewing? (We know we're competing against Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.)
