2016 had 16 that did over $500m
This year I think will be at least 17, maybe 18.
I can see that happening for sure. This is a big year in blockbuster films, arguably bigger than 2015. There's no Avengers or Jurassic World, but there are many other sequels to popular franchises coming out this year.
And Wonder Woman and JL should do very well. Star Wars Episode 8 likely not doing TFA business, but it will be breaking quite a few records itself.
