Both films were remarkably successful and it's not like Cage or any of the rest of the cast, barring Mirren, has had anything better to do. Plus, the second film was kind of setting a potential third film. So I was surprised it never happened.

shareYeah, the lack of SH3 pissed me off, but wasn't there some studio issue for that. But NT is even more confusing because I am sure Cage would absolutely jump at the chance of being in a legitimate big movie in a lead role. Those were pretty good family fun films.

The drop between DaVinci Code (2006)-> Angels & Demon (2009) showed a big slow down in the genre mixed with Nicolas Cage falling in near irrelevance but still wanting movie star sequel type of money maybe ?
The drop from Da Vinci to A&D had more to do with the popularity of the books than the genre.
