People Grossly BETRAYED by the Makers of Their Biopics

I recently checked the Wiki article of Isak Dinesen. The lady turned out to be a very interesting person who lived a dramatic and sometimes even tragic life--in other words, exactly the opposite of what you see in OUT-OF-mAFRICAn-mind-with-boredom, where the lady is portrayed as a crushingly boring uninteresting nonentity who lived a crushingly boring uninteresting nothing life.
What other people have been similarly maltreated by the movies that were supposedly based on their lives?

George Cohan saw Jimmy Cagney portray him in Yankee Doodle Dandy, and said that it was a nice movie but he didn't know whose life it was about.

Anne Boleyn in the other Boleyn Girl she is portrayed as a horrible and manipulative bitch when she wasnt exactly that way.

The Marquise de Sade in Quills is portrayed as a hero and a geanious when in real life well he did many horrible things to woman

Broadway and Hollywood song writer Gus Kahn was portrayed as a low grade moron who owed his entire career to his wife in "I'll See You In My Dreams." The bio material is credited to Mrs. Kahn, so I wonder what prompted the vendetta on poor Gus.

I just read the WIKI articles of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams, and, exactly as was the case with Isak Dinesen, the two gentlemen turned out to be infinitely more interesting than the insipid nonentities of CHAYOTES OF MISFIRE.*
Evidently the three of them were victims of bad writing, bad direction and bad casting. Ian Charleson in particular had no business being an actor. He was so grossly lacking in charisma and presence that the only character he could have played perfectly was the Invisible Man because he would not have required any special effects. I certainly don't remember any of his scenes in CHAYOTES, GOONDHI, and GREYSTOKE: THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, LORD OF THE JACKANAPES.
*What is the chayote? Quite simply the blandest and most flavorless vegetable the Enemy of God and Man ever devised to torment sinful Humankind.

Hey I'm the one who mentioned the Marquis De Sade in Quills and I've been thinking that maybe.
The one we should blame here is Geoffrey Rush who always make his characters likable and very entertaining.

Maybe Philip should have cast Daniel Day Lewis or Ralph Fiennes for this role, they would have portrayed him In a more realistic way.

Geoffrey was incredibly entertaining to watch and he is a fantastic actor but his version of the Marquis made a lot of worshiping this character

I'd like to see a tv series or another film about him but this time with a more realistic portrayal.

If its a series I'd cast Jonathan Rhys Meyers , Hugh Laurie or Joseph Fiennes and if it's a film I'd cast Ralph Fiennes or Daniel Day Lewis
