Legal question about a naighbors dogs

It depends if they are actually playing, sometimes the noises they make and the faces they pull do look quite aggressive, but they are only fooling about. If you are genuinely worried call them, but be aware of the fact that dogs do roughhouse.

Check your local ordinance. This guy may actually have more than the allowed dogs.

I would definitely call the ASPCA or your local animal control. If the guy is doing nothing wrong, then nothing will happen. However, it may take repeated calls because if the ASPCA shows up and the dogs are all hugs and kisses, they cannot take action. If you think it is getting nasty and a dog's life is in immediate danger, I would definitely call 911.

It is certainly beyond rough housing the dog was clearly crying for several minutes i've never seen a dog cry that long during rough play i just wanted to know if there's even any kind of law against letting your dogs do that to each other is it considered animal abuse??? or is it only considered animal abuse if they actually hurt each other in a way you can prove???

I'm not aware of any local ordinance of having under 10 dogs in your back yard in my state.

They only do it when i bring my dog around which i have no choice in doing when i take him for walks because i live at the end of the cul de sac and i have to go by his chain link fence on my way out of my street so i'm not sure they would do it without my dog being around normally they just bark if it's just someone they don't normally snap at each other like that when it's just me walking by and i deff don't want to call the aspca and risk them not being able to do anything other then getting a neighbor pissed off at me i do have a dog that will eat just about anything anyone gives him and i'm scared he could be possibly poisoned if i piss off a neighbor especially if nothing gets done about the problem i just want him to take better care of his dogs maybe separate them when he see's them fighting.

if they are truly being hurt then of course it's animal abuse as the dckhead is failing to give a good amount of care to his animals. What you have to worry about more is if he is taking it to the next level and using them for fighting, which if he is those poor dogs need to be removed.
It is a worry though about your own dog, these kind of people can be petty and pathetic. Why don't you get a friend to speak to the animal cruelty for you that way your name isn't being involved x

That's my problem though what if he just says the dogs were playing then it becomes my word vs his????

I don't think he's fighting them just not correctly caring for so many dogs the 2 older boxers he has that used to be all he had were never like that not even when i brought my dog by the fense they would just snap at each other once or twice not really biting but ever sense he got the black labs it's just been chao's in that yard.

I might do that but i still fear that he would some how connect me to it i did have words with him the last time it happened.

Why don't you anonymously call up your local humane society, explain the situation, and get their advice? Laws vary from state to state (and even from city to city), so it's hard for us to tell you what's legal and what isn't for your area. The humane society may have suggestions on what you can do and/or how they would proceed (and protect your privacy). If the dogs are being mistreated, then you're going to need to report him.If you think he could harm you (or your dogs) if he found out you reported him, then mention this to the humane society (they may suggest you contact the police). If you're worried that he may try to poison your dog, then I'm guessing there's an area (your back yard?) where you think the neighbor could put something poisonous (that your dog would eat)? If so, consider either getting some security cameras to record your backyard (most have infrared capabilities for nighttime recording nowadays). If this is too expensive, you could at least buy several fake security cameras so that he thinks you are recording. You can get battery operated fake ones that move back and forth and have a red LEDs for less than $10 each on eBay. Tell your neighbor you recently heard someone in your backyard so you decided to beef up your security (if possible, do this before you report him). That way he'll know/think your yard is under surveillance (of course if he does try something, the fake ones won't do any good for proof).---On IMDb, nobody knows you're a (I said nobody knows!).

No he has a pretty big back yard that i see them in most of the time but i've also noticed that he has a basement door in his back yard that appears to have a small dog hole in it so i think they sleep either inside or in his basement and just run around his big back yard.
