Anyone have a cat who likes to sleep on your face?
I have this foster kitten who will never leave my home. All of his littermates got adopted but he is a chronic URI guy who is 8 months old and the weight and size of a 3 month old. Felv and fiv negative. No cleft pallet but only eats wet food. Dr. has not pinpointed cause for stunted growth. He said he is a dwarf kitty. (People refer to these as teacup kitties). He is very small. I have been told lack of nutrition while nursing could be a cause. He was rescued from a dilapidated building. But his siblings were healthy, normal size and fine. There could be a lot of reasons for his stunted growth. But out of 600+ rescues, he's the only teacup/dwarf I have ever seen
In any event. He's my lil' Boo now and I looooooove him. But for some reason he likes to sleep spread out on my face. Favorite position, covering my nose and mouth with his body. Some nights are an all night struggle for survival (at least on my part) and comfort on his part. He's so tiny that he is very waif like so the sleeping over my face is no big deal. Its the near death experience that gets a wee bit old. So then I move him. His second favorite spot. With his nose inside my ear. He's got chronic URI so it sounds like Darth Vader breathing inside my eardrum all night. I just block it out . I mean as long as he's happy I say...
Anyone else have an animal that does this? Other cats just walk across my face or body without saying "excuse me" or without shame. Anyone know why animals do this? Just curious.
