My cat has hypercalcemia I'm confused about what to do.

She is getting treatment, and she's not that sick, but she was put on a fosamax, http://www.rxlist.com/fosamax-drug.htm it's not really helping and the pills are very difficult, 1 because we have to take her food away for 10 hours, and then 2 after she gets the pill, 2 because giving her the pill is really hard.. anyway she vomits and has diarrhea still, and her mood is somewhat subdued. She's an 8 year old Maine Coon and a really nice cat, unless I'm giving her a pill.. But I'm concerned about her long term health. She was blood tested for cancers etc, this apparently is idiopathic, which means there is no cause. I'll try to check back to this board randomly since it may be a while before i get responses. thanks.
