Is it safe to feed my cat StarKist albacore tuna?
Or its not. Just feed him regular cat food is best?
Merrriiinnnnnnn!!

My 12-year-old guy is a 9-Lives/Friskies man most of the time, but at Christmas
I give him a can of tuna fish instead of the canned cat food, and he seems to like it.
I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!
Hewwo.
I see. Just once a year.
share Actually, I eat it about once a week, and I give him a little spoonful whenever I do. But it's really not advisable to give it to a cat on a regular basis, because its mercury content is thought to be unsafe for cats, as well as
its level of sodium. It may also be a little too rich for some cats' digestive
systems.

Canned tuna alone is not sufficient in taurine and other nutrients NEEDED in a balanced cat diet.
Canned tuna can lead to deficiencies which are harmful.
I only use a little ball of tuna to cover their medications, as then they will take it.
"What is TRUTH?"
I WANT AN ErJen1 SIGNATURE, ALSO.
I'm glad someone has mentioned how vital taurine and certain other necessary nutrient additions are.
Feeding only people-foods like a can of tuna, and no commercially produced foods specifically designed for a cat's dietary needs can indeed cause harmful deficiencies.
