I don't like people that keep cats indoors
They are natural predators...and people that have their claws removed are mentally fcked up in the head. That is all..I am in a bad mood.

shareI agree
shareOh, today the letter "L" is prefered again.
Greetings to your acquaintance "LenaAFoster"!
I agree about de-clawing. There is absolutely no need for it.
I strongly disagree about indoor cats. But it's a MASSIVE debate and I no longer want to give my time, physical and emotional energy, and my efforts to explain and reason into internet arguments, because they are ALWAYS pointless and nobody gets informed, no matter what information is presented to them.
All I can say is, I lived in a city where even VETERINARIANS strongly suggested a cat be an indoor cat.
And where even the Humane Society WOULD NOT RELEASE a cat for ADOPTION unless you agreed to make it an indoor cat.
If you want to open your mind and find out something new, google on "benefits of keeping cats indoors" (instead of what you might normally tend to google on this matter) and you will find a wealth of articles and information that can educate on exactly why this practice is nothing like you think it is, and can be not only NOT harmful but give the cat a happy and actually an even longer life.
I will not be returning to this thread because, again as stated above, I'm not into debates about something I'm satisfied works, and I'm not into arguing with someone whose only conclusion will ever be that they don't care about why it might.
It is easy to train a cat to claw appropriate things so declawing is definitely not necessary.
However, there are a host of reasons to keep a cat indoors.
Longer life span.
Remain disease free.
As predators, they are the number one killer of local bird population.
And as an owner of a black cat, I am constantly terrified that someone will steal him and do terrible things to him.
Have a nice day!
I kick arse for the Lord!
Ok..I understand, but I had an outdoor cat that lasted to 18 till she died of old age. And that is all I am going to say...
shareI doubt the life span is longer...would you like to be kept indoors all day, every day for all of your life? Or would you like to have freedom to go outdoors and experience life no matter how long or short it is? You have a choice, by keeping a cat indoors, you have taken away their choice of mouse hunting etc and restricted them to a life in a prison. That's what human prisons are like..you are locked up and can't go out...
Do you really think cats don't have a needs and desires like all of us, or do you think they are just dumb animals that are happy to be locked indoors all day??
I truly think you are trolling at this point as there is proof that cats live longer indoors that outdoors.

My sweet RiffRaff is now 16 years old. And my house is much more pleasurable than a prison.

I truly think you are trolling at this point as there is proof that cats live longer indoors that outdoors. But the people who argue against keeping cats indoors aren't quibbling about the arithmetic; its about quality of life. It is certainly true that if a human were kept in an antiseptic environmental bubble, alone, there would be no chance of getting sunburn, cathcing plague or being run over by a number 11 bus. But who in their right mind would want to live that sort of life? A longer life in a cell is not necessarily a life more worth living than a shorter one in the big bad dangerous world.
I speak as one who has had house (ie apartment) cats in the past and now has an outdoorsy cat. I come home from work each day supposing that today may be the day she has been stolen, run over, or eaten by a fox, but even so, there's no way I would prevent her from living the outdoor live she wants to lead. As if I could. She was, after all, an out-and-about cat before she adopted me and would not take kindly to incarceration.
