Why does my cat run for the hills every time I vomit?

Whenever I throw up, he darts out of the room as though I were trying to kill him. It is only vomit..

Probably the sound. Some people make a lot of noise when they throw up; I was sharing a hotel room with another student on a high-school band trip and he was taken ill. His vomiting actually sounded like a metallic clang, and it was really disturbing to hear.

That's why I still call vomiting 'janking.'

I would dart for the hills if someone vomited in front of me too. I always think some people sound demonic when they vomit so I can't imagine what that must sound like to a animal.

Mine runs when my boyfriend sneezes, but not when I do. I guess your cat doesn't like the sound for some reason
