My Ladybug Is Getting Stuck In Honey (Bug Experts)

Right from the beginning I wasn't sure how good of an idea it was to give her honey. She gets stuck in it and is stuck upside down, then I helped prop her back up and she ran up the honey soaked piece of paper towel I gave her now it looks like she's struggling walking.

Can I just give her raisin's and little stick with moss on it and sugar soaked paper towel instead from now on?

hmmm.

A question I'm not sure I've encountered before. It's possible that she doesn't like honey, or is allergic to it. I'd try her on some bacon and eggs for a bit, and if she doesn't like that, maybe try various cheeses.

This looks like an authoritative source: http://www.naturescontrol.com/ladybugs.html They sell ladybugs to gardeners who use them to control the aphid pest population.

They also sell a powdered nectar substitute: http://www.naturescontrol.com/stuff.html#bif that you add to water and then spray where the ladybugs are. I'm not sure where you live, but since you mentioned the temperature of "10 C" in a previous post, I'm assuming you're not in the US. So maybe you can find something similar in your neck of the woods.

Realize that ladybugs can't survive on honey/nectar alone. Since they eat aphids in the wild, they clearly need some sort of protein to survive. I'd search elsewhere on the web for additional suggestions.
