Pierogi's

Comfort food no doubt. Where do you go to buy them, or eat em? What side accompaniments do you fancy?

i go here----->http://sawasausage.com/ to get my Pierogi's, BC they are so damn good. They even have fruit-flavored ones. I go here ------>http://www.pierogiesfactory.com/to eat em when I'm in that area to Costco.
The only downside is they are pretty small.

yum, nothin' can beat grandma's or GG's cooking. Homemade is always best, but i'm worried i may mess them up. i'm not all that great w/ dough products :(

Does/Did your GG make Bigos too? I love Polish fare.

I make a casserole out of frozen pierogis with bacon, cream cheese, chicken broth, cheddar cheese and green onions.

...my mom made absolutely delicious seasoned cabbage pierogi's around Christmas every year. She made about 200 of them and they disappeared within the hour at our annual Christmas eve meatless dinner. And I should specify that my mom's pierogi's were seasoned cabbage, NOT sauer k r a u t. Mom also made a batch of plum filled pierogi's which we enjoyed for dessert...

There is a place in Chicago called Alexandra's which sells about a dozen different styles of pierogi. One of theirs is a cabbage pierogi which is about as close as I can get to my memory of mom's...this place is strictly frozen carry out and they do specialize in other Polish treats...

I've had some such Russian concoction and was not impressed. The Poles know how to make pierogis...

Correctly named? You obviously know very little about Russian and or Polish culture...
