Until the Cubs won the World Series, we had a beautiful tropical waterfall as the wallpaper, WKD has changed it to a picture of the ice at the United Center honoring the Cubs, the Blackhawk Indian is still in the center but the 4 corners has the Cub's "C". What can I say, I'm married to a sports fan.

Basic Windows dark blue. My preference is usually black. Contrast, and I have enough distractions and windows and tabs open to deal with desktop junk.
Same with my phone - solid black. Don't give me any moving crap to catch my eye. I've done other solid colors, it's hard to find one subtle enough.
