Slightly OT: Other warnings of IMDb's decision?

I agree with most people here who think IMDb shutting down the boards is a monetary issue for the most part, if not all.

But in case this is not 100 percent true........

Besides the troll invasion on a few of the boards, I wonder if the *paring down* of a lot of the discussion boards was the first sign that they were thinking of doing that.

I noticed most of the boards I frequent had been *cleaned thoroughly* of most longtime conversations!

Anyone else?

Are you talking about long threads or older posts? Every once in a while they would go through and delete older posts to clear up server space, that's been going on for quite a while. I understand that, though. It makes sense to delete obsolete stuff that's just taking up server space, which costs money.

I still can't believe this place will be gone soon.
