DOGE Low-Hanging Fruit

“I think the US Conference of Catholic Bishops needs to actually look in the mirror a little bit and recognize that they received over $100 million"

"Overall, the nation’s nearly 200 dioceses, where bishops and cardinals govern, and other Catholic institutions received [during COVID] at least $3 billion."

Religion is in demise and the catholic church is leading the downfall.
Every year a new record number of people is leaving Christianity, meaning in percentage of the remaining believers that's an exponential curve.
Take a wild guess why the pope now wants to allow gay marriages in church, might be because he's grabbing any straw he can find to try and maintain a few more members in his church, hoping he might be able to delay the bankruptcy of his organisation long enough so it will be past his lifetime.

On the other hand, depending on how literal they take the Bible, believers get turned away from a pope who all of a sudden embraces a group of people the Bible calls an "abomination".
I can't even guess whether or not a few more gay people in church can outweigh the loss in strong believers who want to keep things the old ways.

Governments still support the churches with load of money and tax exemptions, but the times when over 50% of the population throughout the western world will be atheists and will elect atheist politicians are already predictable.
