Angering vets, Trump says civilian award is 'much better' than Medal of Honor

Veterans rebuked former President Donald Trump this weekend for saying the Presidential Medal of Freedom is "much better" than the military Medal of Honor because recipients of the latter are often badly wounded or dead.

"These asinine comments not only diminish the significance of our nation’s highest award for valor, but also crassly characterizes the sacrifices of those who have risked their lives above and beyond the call of duty," said a statement from Al Lipphardt, national commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Trump made the comments during a campaign event Thursday at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, as talked about awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Dr. Miriam Adelson, a physician, philanthrophist, and prominent Republican Party donor.

“It’s actually much better, because everyone gets the Congressional Medal of Honor, that’s soldiers ‒ they’re either in very bad shape, because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets, or they’re dead,” Trump said.

With Trump desparaging the military and its veterans that just sealed his loss in November. If you support Trump then you too hate the military.

Sure thing, Cupcake. I can't wait for your tears when your Orange Master loses in November. Have you seen Trump lately? He's not doing well.

You really should pick your heroes more carefully because Trump is no hero. He's just a man who is convicted of 34 felonies who shows poor cognitive abilities and he is an utter moron.

You're in denial and that's okay. Denial is just the first stage of the grief process. Things will get better for you in time.

Wow. Trump likes one medal more than the other, becuase fewer people are hurt or dead.
