Whatever Happened to the Liberals?

I mean the *actual* liberals.

The spirit of 68 and the Hippy Revolution, which was all about FREEDOM.

Now, society is full of a bunch of sanctimonious, finger-wagging, cancel-happy puritans (on both ends of the political spectrum; one side trying to entirely cancel people for *once* using a bad word or for making an awkward pass at a woman, and the other side boycotting drinks companies simply because a person in an ad campaign doesn't fit into their narrow-minded idea of gender, or rubbishing a movie because of the lead actor's skin colour).

The funny thing is, there are NO skeletons in *my* cupboard, or anything to particularly offend the wingnuts (I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I barely drink, and only do so at social occasions to make others feel more comfortable, I'm very respectful to women and rarely if ever make sexual passes, I don't engage in porn, far less sex workers, I don't gamble, I'm a vegan, carbon neutral, vote very progressively, don't use racist/homophobic/misogynist language, dress very modestly, particularly in public, keep my sex life to myself, and couldn't be accused of 'appropriating' anyone's identity as an unambiguously cishet white man, for better or worse), but I'm still much more liberal, tolerant and accepting than most of you motherfuckers (oh yeah, I guess I *do* curse, so I do have some faults...)
