2016: Worst Year in Living Memory?
At least post-WWII/The Holocaust.
So many great people died that year. So many dumb global decisions were made that year. And, although it's less important, so many crappy movies were released that year (e.g. Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, X-Men: Apocalypse, Independence Day: Resurgence, Batman v Superman, The Huntsman: Winter's War, and that disappointing adaptation of The Killing Joke), although, on the plus side, there were a few masterpieces, like Silence, Moonlight, La La Land, The Age of Shadows, Elle, Train to Busan, and Rogue One.
