There Is Something Very Misanthropic About Cancel Culture

Like any ideology, that puts principles and agenda ahead of people, Cancel Culture is fundamentally misanthropic. It's also anathema to *genuinely* woke and progressive values, which is all about compassion, forgiveness and genuine love of people. Imagine what would have happened if Cancel Culture had got hold of George Floyd after he pointed a gun at a woman, or the two men who were killed by Kyle Rittenhouse (one of who had charges for domestic violence, the other of whom had charges for child abuse).

Cancel Culture is fundamentally in the tradition of puritanism (i.e. white colonialist Christianity), which takes a very judgemental and holier-than-thou attitude to humanity, in contrast to Black Christianity, and Catholicism, which has traditionally been embraced by oppressed/less privileged cultures and people, like the Irish, Latinos, and Southern Europeans, so, perhaps it's no wonder that so many Black men have fallen foul of this sanctimonious ideology.

Privileged white college students with NO fucking experience of life, can, of course, afford to cancel other, less fortunate, people. Heck, *I* a carbon-neutral teetotal anti-drugs vegan who has never abused a woman in my life, or expressed a racist, homophobic or transphobic sentiment, could theoretically choose to be a smug, santimonious Cancel Culture advocate, if I wanted, without being a hypocrite. But, guess what? I like people. I didn't always. But these days I do. And I want what is best for them. And cancelling their ass, isn't it. ๐Ÿ˜  FORGIVENESS is the key.
