Truth >>>>>>>> Justice
I am a *true* liberal. *Not* an extremist.
True liberals are lenient, anti-capital punishment and favour restorative justice over punitive approaches to criminality.
Unfortunately, there are *extremists* on both side of the political spectrum, who favour *justice* over *truth*. They're less concerned with crime and *lies* being exposed, as they are with the 'correct' narrative. And they'd gladly see several innocent people be locked up, and several guilty people go free, if it adheres to the 'correct' *narrative* (truth be damned).
*Liberals*, especially *progressive* liberals (but NOT fucking SJWs or the so-called 'wokerati'), aren't interested in locking people up to make a point (which is not to say that prisons don't have their place, especially for public protection, rehabilitation, and, occasionally, to act as a deterrent for other potential criminals, or that we're *entirely* anti-justice for justice's sake; some crimes are *sooo* bad, that even if a person is no longer a public threat, but can't be reformed, and won't serve as a deterrent to other potential criminals, they still merit being severely punished). What matters *more* is that criminals are *exposed* and *shamed* for their wrongdoing, and that the *truth* comes out.
