Jan. 6 anniversary: Biden blames Trump for insurrection in speech at Capitol

President Biden on Thursday marked the first anniversary of the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol with a passionate speech in which he assailed former President Donald Trump for pushing the lie that fueled the attack — and for doing nothing to stop the siege.

In his remarks, Biden did not mention Trump by name. But he repeatedly referenced the former president who fabricated a factless narrative of a stolen election and attempted to overturn the result

It's Trump's fault. It's always Trump's fault.

reply

Biden didn't blame anyone. He just read the words.

reply

If the opposing party rigged an election, an insurrection is what you should expect.

But if a leader continuously lies that the opposing party rigged an election, and enough believed the lie to cause an insurrection, perhaps that leader should be locked up for inciting an insurrection.

The people who stormed the Capitol were 100% WRONG.

But, my theory is that after the Dems tolerated lawlessness of the previous summer, these thugs got the idea that there are no consequences for one's actions.

Remember, the looting, burning, chaos, were "peaceful" demonstrations.
According to the Dems, everything was fine.

The country is fucked-up. There is enough blame to go around.

Maybe someone can explain to me why Dems are soft on crime. Criminals are protected, and law-abiding citizens have no recourse.

This isn't the country I grew up in.

"But, my theory is that after the Dems tolerated lawlessness of the previous summer, these thugs got the idea that there are no consequences for one's actions."

True, they thought Trump would return and pardon them all.

reply

So, the Dems' toleration of lawlessness had nothing to do with it?
God, you are dense.

reply

"So, the Dems' toleration of lawlessness had nothing to do with it?"

Unsurprisingly,you missed my point.

They felt protected by their cult leader like BLM felt protected by Harris' statements.

reply

No, I got your point: Everything is Trump's fault.

reply

It certainly is in regards to January 6th

My eyes and ears haven't lied to me yet

reply

Of course he never should have said “March peacefully and patriotically” those are the words of an “insurrectionist”

reply

Would you please read the entire speech for the class?

thank you

reply

I already saw the part of the speech that you take issue with and I have debunked your premise as well. Until you demanded an investigation into everyone in that 11 minute montage your moral outrage is meaningless.

reply

Embarrassed to read it to the class?

reply

Embarrassed to admit you’re debunked?

Also you need to denounce KKKamala for comparing 1/6 to Pearl Harbor and 9/11, that is an insult to the victims of Pearl Harbor and 9/11.

reply

Concession noted.....,carry on with moral outrage

reply

LOL you conceded a long time ago when you wouldn’t do the right thing and get serious about impeaching Biden and Harris.

reply

President Diaper Joe and Vice President Willie Brown’s Sex Toy, just divided the country even further for political reasons with their divisive speeches and you need to take a stand against it. They don’t care at all about riots, they love riots, they just know this is the one issue they can run on as pathetic as it is and its their only chance to not get demolished in November.

reply

It was a terrible, embarrassing thing for our country. But, I can't see the point of memorializing it. All it does is stir the shit, which is what the Dems want. They'll use this as a talking point till the end of time. 🙄

reply

All they care about is politicizing it so they can play the victim as they always do and they don’t give a good fuck about Ashli Babbit, David Dorn, Davall Gardner Jr or anyone else who died in riots.
