White New Yorkers without medical condition need not apply for Covid oral antiviral treatments

A memo came out this week from the NY Health Dept. that mandated five requirements for the Covid oral antiviral treatments and one of the risk factors was non-white race OR Hispanic/Latino ancestry. According to the memo, longstanding systemic health and social inequities have contributed to an increased risk of severe illness and death from Covid.

It appears that CRT has crept into New York state's policy on who gets the oral antiviral treatments for Covid. There should be a lawsuit to forbid denial of health treatments to people based on their race. There are physiological differences between all races so differing health outcomes cannot be automatically linked to systemic racism or social inequities. There is also the West African ghost DNA that only populations in West Africa possess and that would potentially impact health outcomes.
