The best we can do is partial occupation via military bases. If we're going to complain about stolen land, there is way more that goes way back. We would visit our friends who had 3 girls...all 5 being stepping stones. We played poker, drank brewsky, & smoked back then. Yucky! Anyhow, we would peek around the corner to see their reaction. They each had a hold of one another, very still, eyes as big as saucers...then the big screams came! The little one had her hands covering her eyes and her head buried in her sister’s side. It was hilarious! Times past. Only memories. Both friends and my husband now gone. When you get my age that’s all you have left...memories...and hope to hell your mind can retain them!

Trouble is a lot of the immigrants are more conservative in culture and morality. Look at the election results for Florida in regards to Hispanic/Latino voters who backed Trump.

On election night I intently watch the Florida returns. There is a pattern. Southeast Florida is now very liberal. There aren’t enough Cuban votes or conservative votes to overtake the Democrats. All the way north to above the I-4 corridor it trended Hillary & Biden. I held my breath, but was confident the numbers would start changing once they got past I-4. And they did. Trump was beginning to gain. I remember jumping up and yelling “Yes!” Except for the Gainesville area (University of Florida), Trump did well. The panhandle usually saves the Republicans.
My county, Osceola and the two above, Orange & Seminole used to be strong Republican. Also, Hillsborough (Tampa). Why are they now Democrat held...even in County & City governments? Puerto Ricans. The last I heard Hispanics are the majority in my County of Osceola. They vote Democrat. We lost Florida to Obama in 2008 & 2012. It was 2008 when we decided to leave Florida...Obama was the deciding factor.
