Trump closed down travel from China into the US. He was trying to prevent the disease from coming to the states. Trump also appointed Anthony Fauci to set up guidelines for people to help combat this horrible illness. The reason why it spread to the States in because a guy from Canada who went to China came to the United States on vacation and that is how this disease spread to people.
