I think libertarianism is as silly as communism. But I WISH American actually had a system, not nessecarily a parliamentary one but one where you actually had like 4 or 5 parties competing .

imagine a USA with a solid Dem, republican, libertarian, green and maybe liberal party.

imagine having Americans of 5 different political stripes a working crap out rather than having a winner takes all win/loss, us vs them system

it might actually start resembling a more a real democracy (republic I know but I mean with more democratic traits)

rather than a oligarchical corporatist duopoly

The only libertarian position I can get behind that comes to mind is legalizing all drugs. Often the people I meet lately who proudly claim to be a libertarian don't realize how close organized libertarianism in America is to the alt-right.

Of course back then we were more involved in those horrible middle eastern wars so the foreign policy stance had greater appeal.

1. U.S. Republicans - members of that right-wing party in the United States

2. republicans - people who do not like monarchies in their countries (and perhaps elsewhere)
