If Trump was to get over 5 million more votes and still lose the presidency, I would shake my head at a failed system that has thwarted democracy and turned us into a banana republic. I would not be praising Biden for "winning" while losing.
If Trump gets 5 million less votes and wins, you however will be cheering that democracy was thwarted, and you will welcome the banana republic.
So assuming the worst happens and democracy is tossed aside, yes, of course people are going to retaliate. That's the way it's supposed to be. Democracy is worth fighting for.

Trump has 45% support amongst gay men. He also won a lot of the black vote in inner cities, which is what helped him beat Hillary.

The fact is that Trump won because his campaign was better than Hillary’s. His populist rhetoric was what got him the presidency — you look at his ads from 2016 and it could easily be a Bernie one. I wasn’t even aware Hillary had a campaign to begin with, it was so milquetoast. She also ignored Wisonsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

I'm thinking more along the lines of him declaring victory and recounting many states even those that aren't within the margin of error, and then doing his rallies telling everyone he's winning the recounts. Then when it comes time for Biden to take office, Trump will say Biden is taking the white house despite losing the electoral count. That should keep the MAGAs satisfied enough to remain at Trump's feet and continue their worship so that they buy into whatever venture Trump begins after leaving office.
