Assuming it's even true in the first place, what would have been the advantage for Biden? Trump spent the whole evening interrupting him (and the moderator) and barking like a junkyard dog. Trump's performance has been poorly received outside of the conservative bubble because of what HE did, not because Biden was so amazingly clever or out-debated him (with or without help of a wire). It was clearly Trump's intent anyway to scuttle the whole debate, and probably any subsequent debate as well.

It matters because Trump knew Joe's handlers would try to cheat. If you remember, Trump requested for Joe to be tested for drugs and examined for wires beforehand (Trump was willing to be checked as well). Biden said yes at first about being checked for wires but then said no within 24 hours before the debate. I don't know if he ever commented on the drug test or not.
Trump wasn't wrong in thinking the left would pull this. I sure hope he finds out about it.

It was a split screen. The camera was on both of them.
That's the time when he puts his hand in his jacket to "scratch." As he pulls it away you can see the wire pop out and move. Zoom in. You can't miss it. Watch for about 10 seconds.

I didn’t notice the wire last night. What I did notice was Biden was on game, too quick to respond on topic which is not the true Biden. I told my daughter he’s answering too quickly and looking into the camera. There’s no way Biden could react so quickly without his infamous gaffes!
