WTF? Republican Lt. Guv of Texas says elderly are willing to die for our economy
Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick of Texas told FOX's Tucker Carlson last night that elderly across America are willing to die from corona virus if it means opening businesses and helping the economy. The 69 year old made the comments after T-rump declared he would consider 'reopening' businesses sooner than advised to save the economy.
“Let’s get back to work. Let’s get back to living. Let’s be smart about it and those of us who are 70 plus, we’ll take care of ourselves. But don’t sacrifice the country. Don’t do that. Don’t ruin this great American dream,” he said.
“So you’re saying that this disease could take your life but that’s not the scariest thing to you? There’s something that would be worse than dying?” Carleson asked.
“Yeah,” Patrick replied.
“No one reached out to me and said, ‘as a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the American that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?’” Patrick said. “And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in.”
"And that doesn't make me noble or brave or anything like that," he continued. "I just think there are lots of grandparents out there in this country like me... that what we care about and what we love more than anything are those children."
He's right - it doesn't make him noble or brave, it makes him certified crazy. But this is the best the Republicans have - especially in Texas - and this part of the leadership people are supposed to look up to these days during a crisis.
I guess in Republican families they teach their children money is more important than the health and well-being of the loved ones in your family?
