Trump cuts funding to the CDC

Now we are close to a pandemic. Good going Trump. You aren't going to win now. The country is screwed big time because your rich buddies needed tax breaks and now the nations health and the economy is headed in the toilet. Again, nice going Trump.

reply

It's pretty sad when the President's signature bill was massive tax cuts to the wealthy.

reply

Right and the greed of the rich is going to end up possibly destroying our economy and way of life for awhile.

reply

The next recession is going to hurt. A big tool to help an economy recover is tax cuts. That tool will not be at congress's disposal when the next recession hits. Tax cuts in a good economy is very stupid. This is the time that America should be paying down its debt.

He also fired the government’s entire pandemic response chain of command, including the White House management infrastructure two years ago. They've been discussing this in the debate tonight.

"In the spring of 2018, the White House pushed Congress to cut funding for Obama-era disease security programs, proposing to eliminate $252 million in previously committed resources for rebuilding health systems in Ebola-ravaged Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea. Under fire from both sides of the aisle, President Donald Trump dropped the proposal to eliminate Ebola funds a month later. But other White House efforts included reducing $15 billion in national health spending and cutting the global disease-fighting operational budgets of the CDC, NSC, DHS, and HHS. And the government’s $30 million Complex Crises Fund was eliminated."

Trump is such a piece of shit.

reply

All Sanders or the Democratic nominee has to do is continue to tell all the American people what Trump did and how he is responsible for the coronavirus spreading like wildfire throughout the country. Trump is toast.

reply

If the virus hits America hard Trump will be damaged.

reply

On February 14, T-rump told Americans not to worry - the coronavirus will 'go away' in April, when Spring is here.

Seriously. Bernie Sanders hammered him on this one.

reply

I hope they do - but sometimes they fumble before they score a touchdown. However, they were bringing this up tonight during the debate - really beating up T-rump on this one.

reply

Trump just requested 2.5 billion to deal with coronavirus.

Whoops.

As typical with a Democrat lemming posts zero substance so here’s information needed. CDC’s federal budget 11.1 billion. Trumps new budget cut it by 16%. His budget was written months ago. Remember when the Democrats were outraged by 2 billon for a wall? #Metoo.

As usual Democrats have nothing to offer anyone so they continue to prey to their atheist goddess for an economic slowdown. No ideas, no solutions, no platform. The Democrat party of hate.

BTW: China is a communist nation with a government run healthcare system Communist Democrats have celebrated and aspired to mimic for 3/4 of a century. Sure is helping them.

He has no choice now, because he knows if he doesn't do anything he won't get a second term. The problem with the US health system and this disease is that uninsured people won't seek out medical help which will cause it to spread very quickly here. I have a friend who was very sick a couple of weeks ago and I suggested he see a doctor and he told me he can't go to the doctor due to the fact he has no insurance. If he had coronavirus he would be infecting many people just because he can't afford to go to get medical attention. That is one reason that the US health system doesn't work. Of course there are many others.

reply

Obamacare insures everyone for free remember? We even got to keep our doctors. Not sure how someone has a doctor if they’re uninsured.

The reality is this CV will be like SARS, Ebola. Media orgasms for ratings. Democrats blaming the highest Republican office holder (in this case Trump), (just like they did with Reagan and AIDS), they’ll claim they’ll cure it (just like they did with Bubba Clinton and AIDS, Cancer, Paralyses, Parkinson’s), and like every other communist Democrat party/media meltdown for the last 3 years, it’ll amount to the nothing.

A 1-3% fatality rate is nothing. The flu kills nearly a million people per year.

Fortunately the adults are in control maintaining calm, and handing things accordingly. The Trump Boom rolls on.

Obamacare has not insured everyone. Not everyone can afford even Obamacare and also Trump and the Republicans have done everything they can to dismantle Obamacare. My friend really doesn't have a doctor and said if he really got sick he would have to go to the emergency room. He just hoped that it wasn't anything to serious and that it would pass. It did pass, but if it had been the coronavirus he would have passed it to his friends, family and fellow workers. That is why I fear that because of the uninsured not going to the doctor, the US could really have a very large outbreak. I hope it doesn't happen. That situation with my friend just kind of freaked me out and my mind started running wild.

I do agree the media over sensationalizes things, but the Chinese government took draconian measures to stop the spread of the disease. Not sure if the US would do what the Chinese did, so again, that would spread the disease more.
Today Trump finally acknowledged that the rapid spread will definitely come here and he has pledged to do whatever is needed. I have heard that 70% of the world will be infected with coronavirus, so I am not sure if it will amount to nothing(I really hope you are correct).

Your figures are wrong. A 1-3% mortality rate with the coronavirus is more than the flu, it is low, but so far this kills more people than the flu does.

Trump said a week or two ago that the virus will probably go away in the spring and summer. That is a possibility, but health officials just don't know yet. Viruses mutate and therefore, it isn't really known if that is true or not. For whatever reason, I am glad that Trump is actually doing something now. I am not a supporter, but I do agree with some of the things he has done, but I also disagree with other things he has done. I am not one of those people who hate the man, but I do wish that he would try and help the working middle class and be more environmentally conscious than he is.

reply

A virus that began in communist China. It's Trump's fault. Lose your car keys. It's Trump's fault. Gain weight. It's Trump's fault. Get a pimple. It's Trump's fault. Diagnosis: Acute TDS. 🤪🤪🤪🤪

reply

Funny how all the Trumpsters are silent on this issue. They must know that this could derail his chance of a second term. Not smart cutting something that would help stop the spread of this disease and economic collapse. Cutting all these things that benefit the country just to give big tax breaks to corporations is going to be Trump's downfall.

reply

It could hurt him depending on how it plays out.

reply

I am hoping things don't get bad, but with Trumps cavalier attitude about the virus, I am definitely worried.

reply

Go buy masks. Go buy a hazmat suit. Go buy an air filtration unit. Bunker up your apartment. Stock up on batteries. Go buy some MREs. Buy a generator. What are you doing here wasting time? Go now! Time's a wastin'!

reply

I keep seeing survival kit ads on YT. They are definitely trying to cash in on the hysteria.

reply

So what color hazmat suit did you choose? Cornflower blue?

reply

I'm young and strong. No need.

reply

Good for you. Perhaps you can pick one out for modica? You do think the coronavirus and the spread of it is Trump's fault, per modica, yes?

reply

I think the administrations response has been slow to form. Hopefully it won't cost too many lives.

reply

Slow to form? That's not answering the question, is it? Is it Trump's fault as modica insinuated? Yes or no?

reply

Trump's inaction could contribute to the spread of the virus in the U.S. If this happens then yes, Trump should shoulder some blame. Is this clear enough for you?

reply

Trump's inaction also shows he is more concerned with the stock market than American lives.

reply

On US domestic flights, airports have been monitoring the situation all on their own. They have been swipe testing debarking passengers over a month back now and these are DOMESTIC flights. That can only tell you that the airports are much more vigilant on inbound international flights.

So do you think the FAA has been doing something about it? What more are they supposed to do, pray tell?

Like a dem, your only solution is throw money at it and Orange Man Bad.

Seriously Bucky, you're not as stupid or indoctrinated as dogdump. Don't be narrow-minded like him. Yes, Trump has his faults, but don't be Ignorant to the positive contributions and scrounge the internet looking for the next negative story to spew and babble about. It's pointless. Make up your own mind.

reply

Trump was keeping this quiet and hoping it would blow over so he could protect the stock market. I'm not raking him over the coals, but he made a mistake. He's finally holding a press conference today about the virus. It's about 1-2 weeks late, however.

reply

Per your response, you don't agree with modica. As Trey Gowdy would say, "See. That wasn't so tough."

What do we know about the coronavirus? Bad bat meat. It came from some kind of armadillo meat. It came from a Wuhan lab. Which one is true? Chinese journalists end up missing. The actual deaths in China are unknown. No doubt it's worse than it was originally led to be believed.

Is it a concern? Yes. Should we be vigilant? Yes. Do you need the government to tell you that? No. Why? Because it's common sense.

Now let's assume Trump makes this press conference two weeks ago. What does it do? How does it help Italy or Iran, pray tell?

reply

Oh well, we disagree. Trump should have acted like the nation's leader and instead acted like an investor. We do need leadership on this issue. Trump is just now providing that, weeks too late. Can't you people stop defending Trump? You call me indoctrinated?

MUST.DEFEND.DEAR.LEADER.

MUST.DEFEND.DEAR.LEADER.

reply

Acted like the nation's leader? Again, assume the press conference happened two weeks ago, as you wanted, what does it do, pray tell?

You are indoctrinated. You want proof?

Can you admit Obama bypassed Congress and enacted policy via presidential memorandum? Thus, acting like a dictator?

Can you admit Hillary bleached her harddrive after the files were subpoenaed to cover her ass?

Can you admit political interference when Bill Clinton met Loretta Lynch on the tarmac?

Can you admit Obama issued executive privilege to cover for Eric Holder, who was found in contempt of Congress, for his role in Operation Fast and Furious?

Can you admit Al Gore was wrong about climate change and the hockey stick graph is skewed, agenda driven data?

reply

Well once again you can't stay on subject and start bringing up Obama. This is why I have to keep cutting you off. Once again, see ya tomorrow you goofball.

reply

Indoctrination proven. Ignorance is Strength. Freedom is Slavery.

In my best Darth Vader voice: The Ignorance is strong with this one. 🙊🙉🙈

reply

Clearly that’s not enough. We need the UN to take over. And more importantly, elect more communist Democrats.

Feel the Bern!

reply

Funny all the T-Rump Cheetos responses. Makes you wonder if the OP can read.

reply

I can read, but not sure if you can write. I have no idea what you are saying.

reply

Trump literally asked for 2.5 billion to combat the issue in the United States. Guess that went over your head.

reply

He also put Pence in charge of it all. Is he going to sit an pray for the virus to go away? Trump also says he can't guarantee that the vaccine will be affordable. So where is all this money going to? Our tax money will probably be used to help develop a vaccine, but Americans who fund big pharma can't have access to those meds and vaccines? What a fucked up country.

reply

He cut the Obama Ebola group. They aren't needed for this.

reply

You would and should expect Progressive Marxist/Socialist/DSA Democrat Leftists, that when this country is faced with a national emergency politics can be placed on the back burner and Americans could all work together regardless of ideology and overcome the diversity facing this country. Not so, PMS/DSA Dem Leftists find it the right time to pull dirty tricks on their opponents regardless of the dangers facing the country with hopes of destroying their primary adversary Donald J. Trump.
Both Schumer and Pelosi began their The sky is falling! The sky is falling! routine yesterday. This is already backfiring on them especially after the press conference this evening with actions pointed out by DJT bolstering methods of treatment, immigration control, jobs and the economy through this sensitive time.

reply

Do you work at FoxNews? Let's get one thing straight here, you don't speak for every American here and the fact that half of the country disagrees with you and your ideology means that those people have a reason that they are dissatisfied with the Republicans. The two parties need to work together on issues that matter to all the American people. You just can't have it your way forever. There are hard working people in the US who are struggling still, but Trump denies that they actually exist.
