Rural Noir
I'm looking for films similar to The Red House, in setting and/or atmosphere. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

'The Woman On The Beach' (1947) is set on lonely shoreline. It's a mysterious noir with Joan Bennett, Robert Ryan and Charles Bickford in it. Superb IMO.

I'll be watching Moonrise tonight.Wonderful. I love that strange, moody film. A most atypical role for Allyn Joslyn, and he is perfect.

Would The Night of the Hunter qualify as rural noir? Aside from Lillian Gish and the children.
