Help with title - solved

Looking for the title of a fantasy novel, I don't remember the author. The main character of the book was named Saladin or Saladdin. Everyone in the novel had one unique magical ability, and his was the ability to change his weight or density at will. I remember he used the ability in one scene to reduce his weight so that he could quickly climb the ropes on a ship. He was a highly skilled pirate or thief. The book probably came out in the 80's or 90's. For some reason I thought this was maybe by Michael Moorcock but I couldn't find anything like this by him on wikipedia. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
