been reading the No Man's Land trade paperback volumes for first time

I've been reading the No Man's Land trade paperback volumes for first time. They are a really good read, took me alittle while to go through them,I'm on volume 4 right now. Really good writing, so much going on,I think it's one of the best Batman story arcs, storylines, deserves its spot at one of best Batman tales. It certainty belongs in the "blockbuster mega-epic story" like the way Hush and Knightfall are in their grand epic scope. I like character Casandra cain becoming Batgirl. Joker has a really good idea I think its in Volume 3 during his fake election plans for president of No Man's Land, his idea he mentioned is having a script or using something in place of money to use to get goods/foods,supplies,meds. I don't know why the different sectors don't use something like this,it would be helpful I think it would be.

I like the cop named Bock aka Hardback,he's really cool. Has he shown up in other Batman comics? not too crazy about Billy Peitit, he reminds me of Colonel Miles Quaritch from Avavtar a lot.

I think fans of the Arkham games should read No Man's Land. It's basically the same thing, but there are more civilians in No Man's Land and it takes months.

Good to see some NML love here. From what I've encountered, most people dismiss it or call it heavily flawed. I think for such a MASSIVE story that the writing is astonishingly strong and consistent. The only major gripe I have is the constantly shifting art which varies in quality imo.

The Bat books have largely been incredibly since NML. The Rucka and Brubaker runs, Hush, The Dini run, the Morrison run, and the now the Snyder and Tomasi run...Batman has been served well for over a decade now.

It seems like with a lot of the massive Batman story arc/storylines that are collected in paperback or hardback volumes, the art does change with different artists and writers taking on a different saga of the next chapter in a Batman arc. Rucka and Brubaker, Dixon, Moench, Dini, Tomasi, Synder,Geoff Johns, Azzerrlo all have served really greatly with many awesome well written stories.

By the way, I just done reading Cataclysm a few days ago, very well written, almost everybody shows up in it almost, explains the quake and after events.

Hardback Bock was around for a while in the Batman comics before NML, but I think he disappeared soon after that storyline. He mostly featured in the Moench/Jones stories of the mid-90s.
