Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale
Anyone here a fan of the Loeb and Sale team, and have you read the first installment of their latest "Captain America: White"? I feel like they do such a great job of taking established iconic characters and creating thoughtful studies of these heroes, with Sale's great art bringing to life Loeb's ideas. Every story seems to bring out a different side of the two.
Do you have a favorite Loeb and Sale work? For me, it will probably always be "Batman: The Long Halloween," a story that created such a distinctive noir feel that was perfect for Batman's Gotham City, with nearly every panel a work in itself.
I understand that this latest Captain America story was written in 2008 and has been on hold until now. Apparently Loeb has been busy with other duties since becoming head of Marvel TV divisions in 2010, leaving him little time to write. This new story has me hoping more than ever that Loeb finds the time to write again and team up with Sale more in the future for some great tales.
