It's interesting to see it on the table, because I don't really feel like it's harming anyone the way other Japanese properties (like Ghost in the Shell) would. That might be because of the international appeal, that the one cartoon isn't necessarily the only story available, that anyone can become the champion.
I'd probably feel the best if Legendary had it, but that's more coming off of bigger adaptations like Godzilla, and not small ones like... Jonah Hex. What if Guillermo del Toro walked onto the project and wanted to add some of his weirdness to it?
I wonder how good a live action Pokémon film would be.
