How about casting Pierce Brosnan as DANIEL Scully?

reply

Instead of doing a female Bond just do a new franchise with a Bond-like superspy who is a woman.

But just for the sake of the thread, if she were to do one it would need to be a bit more dramatic and complex like the TOWERING AND MAJESTIC TLD instead of some of the lighter entries.

I would have liked a follow up/franchise for Salt; the first was pretty good.

Was not in the cards though, I guess.

Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader.

Doesn't seem like it to me.

Is Jamie Bell the New James Bond?

In the months leading up to the release of last year's James Bond adventure Spectre, franchise star Daniel Craig made more than this fair share of disparaging remarks about both the franchise itself and the title character, 007. It seemed clear from many industry observers that Spectre would be Daniel Craig's last James Bond movie, although nothing has been set in stone quite yet. While we wait for the official announcement, it seems another actor has thrown his hat in the ring as a possible replacement, Fantastic Four star Jamie Bell.

Deadline reports that Jamie Bell has been in discussions about the role with producer Barbara Broccoli, one of the longtime 007 producers alongside Michael G. Wilson, who is also producing Jamie Bell's new project Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool. Nothing is confirmed, and this report reveals that there isn't even a working script for James Bond 25 yet. It also isn't known if Sam Mendes, who directed Skyfall and Spectre, will be back to take the helm.

While the next 007 adventure ins't moving forward at this time, Daniel Craig seems to be taking on more and more work, with the site reporting he just signed on to star in Steven Soderbergh's heist film Logan Lucky, along with Katherine Heigl and previously-confirmed stars Channing Tatum, Seth MacFarlane, Riley Keough and Adam Driver. While we don't know who Daniel Craig is playing, the story centers on a massive heist that goes down during a NASCAR race in Charlotte, North Carolina. Production is scheduled to begin this fall.

Daniel Craig has also signed on for his first ever U.S. TV series entitled Purity, which is eyeing a two-season 20-episode order at Showtime. The show is based on the novel by Jonathan Franzen, following a young activist named Purity who embarks on a quest to find her real father. It isn't known when production will begin on this series, but, with Logan Lucky and Purity already in the works, it seems almost certain that a new Bond will be announced at some point.

As for Jamie Bell, he is coming off the 20th Century Fox superhero reboot Fantastic Four, and he also stars in AMC's hit TV series Turn: Washington's Spies. We reported earlier this month that, despite underperforming at the box office, 20th Century Fox may still move forward with a Fantastic Four sequel with the same cast, which also includes Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic), Michael B. Jordan (The Human Torch) and Kate Mara (The Invisible Woman). We'll keep you posted with more updates on the new James Bond movie, and who may be replacing Daniel Craig.

http://whatculture.com/film-tv/breaking-tom-hiddleston-is-in-talks-for-james-bond-25Breaking: Tom Hiddleston IS In Talks For James Bond 25

It was only a matter of time before an Eton graduate went 007.
Tom Hiddleston BondWC

The very same day that everyone started talking about Jamie Bell as a possibility for James Bond, it looks like there's some more concrete news on who might be in talks to take over from Daniel Craig.

According to Birth Movies Death, who ironically questioned the validity of the Daily Mail's story that Tom Hiddleston had met Barbara Broccoli in secret - none other than Tom Hiddleston has met with the film's producers to talk about becoming 007.

Phil Nobile says a source "close to" the actor has told him that he's in advanced talks and is careful to say that "while talks have indeed taken place, and that Hiddleston very much wants the job (a fact of which he’s made no secret), no official offer has been made - yet."

As he says, there are two possibilities here: either Daniel Craig has followed through on his claim that he'd rather kill himself than play Bond again, or they're trying to get a response out of him by openly talking to replacements.

Given the news that Craig has just signed on to Steven Soderbergh's Logan Lucky with Katherine Heigl, it would seem he's making himself unavailable. And it wouldn't be the worst thing: the time is now right for change and Hiddleston would be a great alternative. Anyone who saw The Night Watchman will already agree to that much.

Hiddleston is a more recognizable actor than Craig was at the time of his casting, and while he fits the brief of past Bonds (posh boys like Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan), he's also a little more edgy. And as a pleasant little link, he'd be the first Bond to graduate from the same school as both Bond and Ian Fleming - Eton College.

The idea of a more high class Bond would be a good tonic to Craig's more brusque version. He might have been posh too, but there was very much a sense that he was being positioned as a more relatable, working man's Bond. he had class, but he was never quite as regal as M. Maybe that's the best way to go?

Whatever the approach, let's just go for difference. Spectre wasn't beloved, and lots of people seem to be calling it a snooze-fest (they're wrong, but whatever), so proximity - even with Daniel Craig retained - might not be the most welcome thing.

Would you take Tom Hiddleston as Bond?

Will we ever see a female Bond?

Whether Daniel Craig is actually following through on his threat to not come back for Bond 25 seems to be a matter of strong debate recently. First he definitely wasn't, but then the BBC threw a spanner into the works by saying nothing was confirmed, despite rumours that Tom Hiddleston had met with Barbara Broccoli and Sam Mendes in secret for Bond discussions.

It seems unlikely, given that Craig said he'd rather commit bloody, traumatic suicide than play 007 again (why would the producers want that sort of thing hanging over the film?), but stranger things have happened.

Meanwhile the Internet is inevitably racing to work out who the next Bond will be if he does exit. Names like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Hiddleston have figured a lot, but one fan took time out to fan cast Gillian Anderson, and it seems she paid attention.

The X-Files actor responded to a poster casting her as the new Bond positively too, which will no doubt delight anyone whose testicles shrink immediately at the mere suggestion of a lady 007.

Clearly, most of the time fan-casting doesn't lead to actual casting (though Bryan Singer did confirm Olivia Munn was at least partly cast as Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse thanks to a fan edit poster), but it's nice to know she got a kick out of it.

Would you like to see Gillian Anderson (or another female alternative) play James Bond? I'm good with casting Anderson, but only if she plays Bond as a man.

It's just acting, after all. Taking on a role.
