Rest in Peace, Saruman
To quote a friend, Christopher Lee, apart from a fine actor, was one of those people who it seemed "would live forever".
Let's hope Valinor treats him well!

Yeh, I just read his obit on Yahoo. I'm glad he lived to make it through the Hobbit films. He's a remarkable man who lived a remarkable life, both in and out of film.
RIP Chris.
I only have one person on ignore, but I've had to ignore him 625 different times.
Sad news. R.I.P Christopher and all sympathies to his family and friends.
Go to bed Frank or this is going to get ugly .
Christopher was a long time devotee of Tolkien and a supporter of Jackson and Co. to get the LOTR films off the ground.
And while he was an effective actor for many decades, it was in the 2000s that Christopher emerged as a fantasy/sci-fi movie icon in "The Two Towers" and "Attack of the Clones".
Also, whatever sins that were committed by Jackson & Co. with the Hobbit movies, it was a last opportunity to see Christopher again portraying a character from a mythology that he loved.
BB ;-)
it is just in my opinion - imo - π
Indeed.
In celebration, the U.K. should release his war service records. Let's find out how badass the man really was...
Look- its trying to think!
Better late than never I suppose. I was quite sad to hear of Lee's passing. Kjnics, your friend is bang on. It's weird to think he's gone. Not totally unlike Richard Attenborough. Which is ironically timely given Jurassic World's insanely large appeal.
"He was one mailroute away from being Cliff Claven"ξ
Still sad he's gone :(
Discord: "Wait a minute, where's my throne?"
Fluttershy: "I don't think you're quite there yet"
Wait another 25 years for that I am afraid My grandfather was in the Army Commandos (the SAS were an offshoot from that organisation) during WW2 and from documents I saw that I borrowed from his CO for a project I was doing they were technically classified till around 2040.
RIP Sir Lee from when I first encountered you playing Dracula in the Old Hammer films you impressed on me the wonders that can be encountered in film. A consummate actor and a true gentleman will be sadly missed.

So we come inevitably from Daedalus and Icarus to the Giant Bomber. It is not an advance in wisdom!
