There's nothing I can do, really, except get on down to that good ol' mental asylum called Pakistan and sign in for my diamond and golds treasures. Oh wait... damn I've got a concert to attend in Auckland this weekend, Lahore will have to wait. Bugga 

I get the feeling that the special inspector might indeed be very speshul 

You and your ties to Qaddafi's billions, Belle. 

I still like the "drenched in tears" one with the thousand and one diseases who wanted to leave you their inheritance best. They should hire whoever composed it to write soap opera scripts.

(P.S. Once you're a wealthy heiress, don't forget about the rest of us poor mortals here on the board). 

Warning. This site is crude, indecent, profane, and can get close to racist at times. On the other hand, it is all about baiting Nigerian scammers into doing outrageous things, so they are doing God's work among all of the indecency and foul language:

While I have not managed to get any of these clowns to travel to Dakar, or carve a keyboard out of wood (http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2007/06/how-to-trick-an-online-scammer-into-carving-a-computer-out-of-wood/305903/), or hold up a sign saying with something genuinely obscene on it, I have a "dummy" email I used to use to bait scammers. You should try it. Amazing how much fun you can have when they think they have a live one!

I say!

I am rather fond of that wooden keyboard. I wonder what else they'd make if they thought there was money in it - rubber motorcar, recycled-paper modem? 

I watched a Dr Phil show about a year ago featuring women who had been romance-scammed by Nigerians. Some of these women had parted with hundreds of thousands of dollars, after falling for the 'instant love' on offer from people using profiles and profile photos pinched from Facebook. Although these women were of average or above average intelligence they let themselves be led down the garden path by the most outrageously unlikely stories. I guess it's sad what desperation can do - both in terms of people lonely for love and those whose desperate environments and lives lead them to desperate acts of fakery. I guess there's enough success in it to encourage them to continue.

Quick, play dead.

Well, I admit that I am torn between extreme frustration at people for being so gullible, with a genuine righteous anger at nailing the scammers.

A few months ago, I turned in a man who was scamming a lot of the local evangelical community with a "sure-fire options trading program" that didn't work. He had gone to all the right Christian schools, and knew how to pitch to that community. Some probably think I am the bad guy. But, even so, I toasted a scammer who was using his sanctimonious Christianity to scam other Christians. Chalk one up for the good guys.
