About Darth Vader, please help!

Several photographs featured in the gallery at /name/nm0001190/mediaindex are attributed to the original Star Wars (aka Episode IV, A New Hope), but by arrangement of David Powse's costume, it seems that they should be attributed to Episode V or VI, The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi, of the Star Wars series. Fans of the Star Wars original trilogy, or otherwise filmwatchers who pay very close attention to detail (and who've seen the films recently) know exactly what nuance I'm referring to. In other words, the character's robe is overlaps his chest-trapezius-shoulder armor throughout the run of the entirety of A New Hope, wheres as in the later two films, the vice versa is true.
