I liked the prequels.

They were better in many ways than the original trilogy: characters provided more believably rounded depth, superior visual effects (from over a decade ago, so CGI-haters keep some perspective), and although to be expected given arc of 4-6, the bleaker scenario and turnout was refreshing. Jar-Jar Binks was refreshing as well. Cartoonish? A little, but not over-the-top. I also enjoyed viewing Yoda's badassery, and some of the tie-in explanations to 4-6. I personally like the vision of Jar-Jar as a [spoilers]Dark Lord, such as SL Snoke, although Ren's Supreme Leader will probably turn out to be someone else, probably Vader..[/spoilers]
The one aspect that should have been written cleaner was the politicking; yes it was convoluted, and doesn't altogether make sense (Well it does if you allow it to, but it could have been presented better in context.)

Dissidents (of whom y'all likely outnumber my viewpoint), please share why you disliked eps.1-3.

Nothing wrong with liking bits of prequels, but in most of your points you are flat out wrong. The acting is awful in most of the prequel films. There are practically no well rounded characters at all. The CGI in The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones has not aged well, and is downright bad in some places, and Jar Jar is freaking annoying.

The reason why the mass majority of people will disagree with you is because they are right. The original trilogy has a lot of good practical effects that still look good to this day. The characters are well developed and the acting is mostly good from film to film, and story isn't a convoluted mess that keeps bring up characters and sub-plots, and then just abandoning them soon after.

The entire point of the prequel trilogy was to show how Darth Vader came to be, and his origin was muddled. It lacked focus and coherence, with no real believable motivator. As a main character he is pretty much unrelatable. He's just a whiny kid full of angst that can't stand not getting what he wants. Hayden is a bad actor, and Lucus needed a better person to write the script.

Vader is a but whiny--not as much as Luke though; like father like son! (which was one of his deciding motivators for making the switch.. desiring a child).

I do concede that some of the sub-plots aren't maintained well. Overall the characters are believable.

Still shaking my head at how some people can't tolerate a different opinion and have to be condescending *beep* when they don't agree with someone stated. I unlike others am actually a real Star Wars fan unlike the pop culture fans who claim to be fans who are really not but like whatever is popular, I love all 7 movies, everyone can have a different opinion, nothing will ever change my opinion on the films, but I don't get belligerent, snide or pretentious when someone disagrees with me, I just frankly don't give a *beep* what someone else thinks I only value one opinion, MINE:)

Critics are worthless, formulate your own opinion!

So do I, and Episode 3 is still my favorite of all of them tied with Force Awakens.

No, he's the greatest actor in the world!
I don't know how he managed to keep a straight face while speaking the awful dialogue.
"From my point of view the Jedi are evil!"
"I don't like sand"

I thought they were rather good, I'm not afraid to admit I liked them as a whole more than 4-6.

Episode 3 is the only prequel I like. It's still deeply flawed but at least it's entertaining.
