Could you imagine what this could be like if

The Dursleys and the Malfoys met each other, cause one thing that they had in common they both hated Harry Potter. Do you think that they would have been friends and why or why not? The big difference is of course that Dursleys are all muggle born, and the Malfoys are all magical born and consider themselves to be pure blood. Or do you think that the Dursleys would have also been jealous about the Malfoys being magically born. I would believe it to be the latter, and I would say for sure with Aunt Petunia Dursley. Even since she hated and completely jealous of the fact that not only was her late sister, and her nephew Harry Potter were both born magical.

Dursley's hated magic users. Malfoy's hated muggles.

I find it interesting though that they have so much in common. They both are snobbish and arrogant well-to-do-families with only one son. And yeah, both of these boys are bullies to Harry. But yeah, they would of course only focus on the differences between them (magic vs muggles). So they would still hardly get along that well, even if they might find their views on Harry to be similar.

They would be the utterest of utter enemies. The Dursleys didn't hate Harry as Harry; they hated him because he represented the wizarding world. The Malfoys were even more magical.

The Malfoys hated Harry because they considered him a "blood traitor" who liked Muggles. The Dursleys were pure Muggle.

If the hatred were just personal, they might. But it wasn't.

If it wasn't for the fact that they'd automatically hate each other simply for the fact that the other family was part of a group they hated (muggles for the Malfoys and magic folk for the Dursleys) I think they could potentially be the best of friends. I think the main reason they would become friends would be cause they hate Harry and they are both upper crust people who kind of see themselves as better than the rest.

But it is still a good thing to imagine what it would be like if they had met up, even if they would still hate each other.
