All ‘Harry Potter’ Movies Returning to Theaters for One Week

“Harry Potter” is flying back to theaters.

Imax and Warner Bros. are teaming up to screen all eight “Harry Potter” films for one week, starting on Oct. 13.

The showings come a month before the Nov. 18 release of the “Potter” spinoff “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The event also marks the first time both “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” — the first two movies in the series — will be shown in Imax theaters.

The Oct. 13 launch will include a global fan event celebrating the upcoming release of “Fantastic Beasts” at select Imax theaters in the U.S. and internationally, including a never-before-seen reel from the new film, as well as in-person appearances by the stars at two locations in London and Los Angeles, and a live Q&A.

To date, the “Harry Potter” franchise has grossed approximately $216 million at Imax theaters worldwide. The series has hauled more than $7.7 billion worldwide, led by “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2” with $1.3 billion.

“‘Harry Potter’ is one of the most beloved film franchises of all time and is incredibly important to the history of Imax. Therefore, being able to offer each installment — especially the initial two for the very first time in Imax — makes this a truly magical event for fans,” said Greg Foster, CEO of Imax Entertainment and senior executive vice president of Imax Corp.

Four separate admission packages are available for purchase: single ticket; day access (admittance to three or more shows in a single day); four-show access (admittance to four shows any time, any day); and festival access (unlimited admittance throughout the event).

It is not like you can't watch them on dvd anyways but it is not every day that you can see the Harry potter films get re-released to the big screen, and even IMAX where the first 2 movies are making their IMAX debuts as the first movie to go on IMAX was Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

I read that the first two films were re-formated for I-MAX I will be going to see them to see how it works out

I for sure that I won't see any of the Harry Potter moves this time around on the big screen, including the first 2 movies on the IMAX screen, which I am sure it will be interesting to see how they would have re-formated for IMAX, as I am sure that you know that IMAX it is a bigger screen then a normal movie theater screen.
