If the 90's cowboys were in the nfl today, would they usurp the pats?

lets say it's 1992 and they were just beginning, and you put them in todays NFL. they would probably face the pats more than once in the SB, right? so, which team would be considered better?

if they faced the pats and brady multiple times in the SB, who would win them? which dynasty is more impressive?

Great question. I'm an Aikman fan as well as Brady. Here's the thing though: The league has changed. Teams are better today when you consider how much bigger, stronger, and faster the players are and how more sophisticated the offenses and defenses have become. It's kind of also like when people say the 85 Bears or 72 Dolphins are the best of all time, when they probably wouldn't be able to hang with the teams today (though I still think the Bears would have been good, but that strategy of sending 8 or 9 rushers would be picked apart by QBs like Brady who get rid of it so fast). So that's why it's so hard to compare different eras because their apples and oranges. It doesn't take away how great the Cowboys were for that era, but I think the Pats would win.

yeah, the rules change all the time too. the 85 bears with the 46 defense would be getting flagged left and right.

True. Also the good QBs get rid of it so quickly today and can adjust. Hell, getting back to the Cowboys, it seems that Aikman held the ball a lot longer which is perhaps why he had so many concussions. The 85 Bears could have probably beaten those Cowboys but I don't know if they could beat Rodgers or Brady.

yea, and those 90's cowbabies are the reason so many ppl my age in NY are cowgirls fans. it pisses me off.

Well he also had more concussions because you could actually hit QB's back then. More than half the QB's in the league these days wouldn't have made it 4-6 seasons back then. That's why the smaller Wilson framed QB's have more success these days than they ever would have back then.

QB's that retire these days have stiff necks and backs and bad knees. A lot of QB's from back then can barely remember their name.

Like the way Brady got rid of the ball so fast vs the Giants pass rushers in Super Bowl XLII and vs the Broncos in last season's AFC Championship Game? LOL!!!

I liked it last season when all the experts said the Broncos wouldn't be able to pressure Brady because Brady gets rid of the ball in about 2 seconds and then Von Miller said he only needed 1 second to get to Brady. And the Broncos' pass rushers got to Brady all day long, hitting him over 20 times and forcing him into 2 bad interceptions.

The 1985 Bears were 18-1, and (unlike the Patriots) they finished their 18-1 season with a dominating 46-10 Super Bowl win. The 1985 Bears' pass rush would've destroyed Brady just like the 2007 Giants' pass rushers and the 2015 Broncos' pass rushers did.

It doesn't take away how great the Cowboys were for that era, but I think the Pats would win.

Nope, the 1990s Cowboys would've destroyed these Pats. The Pats cheated and still could only win their Super Bowls by 3 or 4 points each. The 1990s Cowboys not only won all 3 of their Super Bowls by double-digit margins (and an average margin of 20.7 points per Super Bowl win) but also the Cowboys played 11 postseason games from 1992 through 1995 and went 10-1 in those 11 postseason games and all 10 of those postseason wins were by double-digit margins.

The 1990s Cowboys didn't just squeak by their postseason opponents; they dominated and destroyed their postseason opponents; they dominated and destroyed the best teams in the NFL by double-digit margins. No other franchise in NFL history has ever dominated their postseason opponents like the 1990s Cowboys did. The 1990s Cowboys would destroy these Pats.

Are you saying they should go back to the old rules and allow the concussions to happen?
