Nintendo Switch has already beaten PS4 & XBOX One Launch sales?!

Would certainly be impressive if they managed to sell three million units on launch.

I'm sure part of the pre-order hype is due to the massive shortages of the NES Classic. Many people are clamoring for Nintendo products again.

I intend on buying a Switch whenever I'm able to. There are numerous games coming out this year alone that I can't wait to own/play

You're getting a bit ahead of yourself there.

For starters, your comparisions in no way takes into account the staggered launch of both the PS4 and Xbone. For Example,the PS4 released in America and sold over 1 million day one on November 15th. It didnt launch for another 2 weeks in Europe,and roughly 3 days after its european launch on Nov 28th it had hit 2.1million. It then didnt release until February in Japan. The switch on the other hand is releasing in all those regions with ~2million units to be shipped that whole month (That includes both launch day and any further shipments that month)

It may sell more day one than PS4 did day one, but youre comparing a worldwide launch to a single region launch. 2million worldwide units sold in the month,if all sold, will still likely fall short of the combined sales of the European and American Ps4 launches overall.

As for an increase in stock? I wouldn't hold your breath. Nintendo are notorious for restricting the amount of products shipped in order to artifically create demand (See, the Ninteno Classic, numerous Amiibos).

Again, wayyyyy ahead of yourself there. A successfull Nintendo launch in no way gaurantees a successfull nintendo product. The faithful will always be back and will essentially be their day 1 purchasers. Beyond that they'll need to attract the average consumer and the casual audience if they're to gaurantee a success.

It will likely beat the WiiU in terms of overall sales, but its not going to be the mega hit that some people seem to think it might be.

It could actually be the best launch lineup ever for a console - or at least tied with the N64.
