OT: Do you use the handbrake while in a drive-thru?

I went to get some mcdonals and when i was paying i used my handbrake and the guy gave me a look like i raped his mum or something.

Now i'm really paranoid that i'm doing it wrong and am scared to go back.

I swear i've seen people put their car in park in drive-thrus is that what i'm supposed to do?
