Why is the media so hard on Xbox?

At the beginning of this gen, there were still a lot of Xbox fans in the press that were willing to stick up for the console despite all the bellyaching. They knew, like all of us that stuck with Xbox, that Microsoft was going to use their money and muscle building Xbox One into a great platform.

We got big games out on time (the bad ones were cancelled), constant updates to the UI, backwards fcking compatibility, we had external HDD support first, great price cuts to entice people, a great upgrade to the slim model. It's not like MS has spent the whole time with their thumb up their ass this generation. Where's the loyalty? It's like people don't remember the good times. Xbox 360 was responsible for so much joy last gen and brought AAA gaming to the apex. We owe them and should trust their next foray wholeheartedly, they earned it.

Now, Playstation 4 gets ahead of the pack, and people forget all that? What happened to the gaming industry surrounding the releases of Halo and Gears? Those were exclusives that could hold their own with the multis. Xbox has a new and supremely powerful game system on the horizon, and all anyone can do in the press is second guess it.

This console is going to do everything right. The market is responding to power now and MS is trying to deliver that for an affordable price. This console is for us. Thank you, Microsoft. Your efforts will not be in vain. But it's time everyone stopped looking the gift horse in the mouth and let MS work their magic. Make gaming great again.

Why is the media so hard on Xbox? It's because they offer almost no exclusives. They're going to offer a high-end Xbox One instead of releasing a next-generation Xbox. They're making mistakes left and right.

But it's not even like the exclusives that are on PS4 are system sellers. That console is the very definition of quantity over quality. Nobody puts Sony's feet to the fire about things like why the network is so bad and why it took so long to get the games they announced.

All they do is talk about things like Scalebound getting cancelled, and saying crap like Scorpio isn't as powerful as claimed despite Phil Spencer saying otherwise. That's okay, all the downplaying by the media will make the Scorpio's debut that much sweeter.

Uncharted 4 sold 8.7 million copies in under a year. I'd call that a system seller. Bloodborne and others have done well too. Nioh is brand new but may be a game of the year contender from what's being written.

What does that tell you? The only good games on PS4 are Souls games. And those games are certainly not for everyone. And this is the last Uncharted as far as I know. There's still no great racing and FPS games to justify its library for western gamers.

That console is the very definition of quantity over quality Maddie logic, a year ago the PS4 'Had no exclusives' PS4 in 2017 "Well I mean they have exclusives but none hold up to Halo reskin or Gears reskin that's for sure!"

What can I tell you? Microsoft exclusives resonate that much more. I mean, the Xbox 360 only completely DOMINATED the US in its run. MS spoiled us, and we only want those glory days back. That's why in my mind, and many Xbox gamers, that Xbox will always be the incumbent. This Playstation thing has really become more of an annoyance than anything.
