It's directed towards those stupid morons you see on the Internet who whine about how cartoons today suck, even though they're forgetting there was bad cartoons in the past as well.
However, the phrase "cartoons today suck" is starting to become obsolete since there have been so many cartoons today that have gotten a lot of praise..."Steven Universe", "Rick and Morty", "Gravity Falls", "Bob's Burgers", "BoJack Horseman", "Adventure Time", "Harvey Beaks", "The Loud House", "Regular Show", "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", "Wander Over Yonder", etc. Some of these shows are even children's cartoons!
And speaking of which, OP, I actually made a post some time ago and posted it on this message board so everyone can laugh at this person I found on the Internet who said something stupid.
I actually found a video in the Youtube comments section of a video that said this garbage: "I feel extremely bad for kids growing up in this decade. Because they literally have nothing to enjoy nowadays. T.V shows, movies, cartoons, music, education, even video games suck now. Parents these days are worried about everything that they're putting their kids on leashes and taking away their kids' freedom. And worst of all, they'll never know what it was like before iPhones and tablets were around."
This person posted this comment in 2016.
Isn't that such an idiotic thing to say?
What about children's cartoons like "Steven Universe", "Gravity Falls", "Adventure Time", "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", "Harvey Beaks", "The Loud House", "Regular Show", "Wander over Yonder", "We Bare Bears", "The Amazing World of Gumball" and even "Clarence"?
All of these are modern children's cartoons that have gotten lots of wonderful praise and reviews.
Plus, what about animated movies today? Like "Zootopia", "Frozen", "Inside Out", "Big Hero 6", "Wreck it Ralph", "Finding Dory", "The Good Dinosaur", and there's also set to be a new Disney movie with Disney's first Hawaiian/Polynesian Disney princess that looks good.
These are all modern kids movies that have gotten great reviews, plus, these are kids movies that kids can enjoy.
And speaking of Disney, what about Disney's new line from Japan, Disney Tsum Tsums?Disney Tsum Tsums are taking the world and America up by a storm, and you can see why. They're absolutely ADORABLE and hard to resist. Many children across America and all around the world love Tsum Tsums, and Disney Tsum Tsum is a line mostly aimed towards children.
Plus, kids can enjoy things today that aren't media or pop culture related, like going swimming, or playing with their friends, or animals, or playing in the park, or birthday parties.
The person who said that is completely full of 💩.
And y'know, even though there are many modern children's cartoons today that have gotten a lot of praise, the thing is, some of these "great" children's cartoons like "Steven Universe" and "Harvey Beaks" hardly air on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon.
Sure, they do come on the channels once in a blue moon (and "The Amazing World Of Gumball" does get a lot of play on CN), but they rarely come on their channels with a few exceptions, and the channels will usually play something horrible consistently.
Plus, Disney has that Disney XD channel that plays shows like "Gravity Falls", "Wander Over Yonder" and "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", which are all cartoons that have gotten heavy amounts of laud and praise.
However, many children today don't have Disney XD on their television sets, some kids today don't even have a TV in general!
I also have wondered to myself if kids today even enjoy these so-called "great" cartoons like "Steven Universe", "Gravity Falls", "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", "Harvey Beaks", etc. The reason I said "so called 'great'" is because I've never really watched the majority of these modern kids cartoons, but I've heard wonderful and glowing reviews about them.
Not to mention, this person this idiot follows, known as theFutureKing, he made a video comparing when was TV better, in the 80's or 2010's, and he broke it down into 4 categories, one of which being cartoons.
He said this regarding this decade for cartoons: "When it comes to cartoons, the 2010's are *beep* horrible. You got those new chipmunks (as in Alvin and the Chipmunks obviously), the new cute little 'Teen Titans', the new cutesy wootsy 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', 'Adventure Time' is one of the most random, retarded shows ever".
What he said made me very angry. Why?
Because he's cherry picking. He's cherry picking all the bad cartoons today and forgetting everything else, and he's forgetting there's more to cartoons that just what he said.
There's also "Steven Universe", "Gravity Falls", "Star vs. the Forces of Evil", "The Amazing World of Gumball", "We Bare Bears", "Wander Over Yonder", "BoJack Horseman", "Rick and Morty", "Harvey Beaks", "Legend of Korra" and "The Loud House".
Not only that, but these shows I mentioned have gotten splendid and excellent reviews and lots of praise.
He needs to watch those shows and give them a chance.
Plus, this guy I mentioned, he thinks EVERYTHING in this decade sucks, EVERYTHING. Music, movies, TV, wrestling, the economy, etc., everything in his eyes is crap. Even if it's something that's considered to be good, he thinks it sucks.
What about cartoons?
I know he cherry picked today's cartoons, but he's forgetting there's more to cartoons than just those shows.
He needs to watch many of today's great cartoons like "Steven Universe", "Rick and Morty", "BoJack Horseman", "Gravity Falls", "Harvey Beaks", "The Loud House", etc. and then he might change his mind about how "everything today sucks".
Although, I was thinking to myself if it's sad that one of the few things about today that doesn't suck is the cartoons, especially the children's cartoons.
I do think it's wonderful that kids today have something to watch and enjoy that isn't garbage, but these are children's cartoons made for kids.
Plus, it's also quite sad that some great movies being made today are kids movies, like "Inside Out", "Zootopia", etc. Again, while they are movies for kids to enjoy and that's great, and they're movies that do appeal to the young at heart and are movies people of all ages can enjoy (like many children's cartoons today), but these are kids movies.
While there are great live action movies for adults being made today, there are some great movies out there being made today, I even saw a great live action movie a few weeks ago, however, it seems like so many good movies being made today are kids movies, not to mention, it seems like the movies being made today that are trying to be original and creative are kids movies (although there are a few creative adult movies here and there today).
And to make matters worse, this FutureKing guy has a clone. A British clone who has made videos about how much this decade and this generation sucks and how everything sucks now. Many of the things this clone said are some of the exact same thing this FutureKing guy said.
And of course, this British clone said everything today sucks.
Again, what about cartoons?
