If Snow White and the Seven Dwarves failed

If Snow White and the Seven Dwarves failed what do you think that animation would have been like today, would it totally would have ended if Snow White and the Seven Dwarves had failed? Would have Walt Disney anded the animation department after one movie? Would another studio tried to do their own animated movie to see how it would have done? Would there would no such thing as animation other Snow White and the Seven Dwarves if the movie had failed, and not given Walt Disney the decision to make more? Today there is just more then Disney that makes animated movies PIXAR, Dreamworks, and even 20th Centuary Fox have put out their own animated movies. But Dreamworks has been Disney's main rival when it has come to animated movies.

It would have most likely bankrupted Walt Disney Productions (the studio name at the time). Investing $1.4 million in one film was a serious amount of money in those days, and it needed to earn twice as much as the budget in order to break even. If it didn't, Walt Disney would have no choice but to file for bankruptcy.

If Snow White underperformed but the Disney studios was still solvent, there would be a massive lay-off and downscaling of the animation staff in which the studio would have to rely on merchandising revenue and re-releasing and creating new Silly Symphonies theatrical shorts in order to earn back the money they lost. The Disney animated classics we know today would not exist and the famous people we associate with Disney (such as the Nine Old Men) would have less than stellar careers.

All other animation studios such as Warner Bros., M-G-M, and Walter Lantz would not attempt to produce a feature-length animated films seeing those as an unprofitable risk if Snow White failed, and it would be decades until some other studio would attempt to do another one.

Hard to picture what would've happened if Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs failed. Animation would not be the same and I doubt Disney would last.
