When is Disney going to have an Indian princess?

There are over a billion people in India, and they love musical numbers. It could break records.

If they're smart, the answer is whenever they have a good story to warrant one. The writing must always be the driving force behind character choices, not the other way around.

This.

If Disney ever starts making characters simply because it will make their movie bank roll, it be a disaster.

Also, if the character sucks, it could end up being a huge bomb that would blow up in their face.

There is tons of talent on Disney's writing side, so all I can say is don't assume that one isn't already coming.

Wouldn't Pochontas count?

The other kind of Indian, as in the country India. Typically we would call Pocahontas a Native American these days.

Sad that Princess and the Frog wasn't a financial success. Even Pocahontas isn't seen as Disney's most popular film either even though the character is sometime featured in merchandising.

Roger Waters and David Gilmour are Bronies

Given it was in 2D, I think they expected that.

The thing is, since it proved them right, that further decreased the likelihood that they won't do another high budget 2D feature film anytime soon. To me, Princess and the Frog came at least a decade too late.

Imagine what impact it would have had in the late 90's.

But still shouldn't she still count as a princess?

I suppose, but that's still irrelevant to the discussion at hand as we're still talking about two completely different kinds of people.
