Someone help! Need a title!!

Hello everyone, I signed up for an account just to ask this question so I really hope I get the information I need! I have a thread going on the 'I Need to Know' board, but have had no luck so far. Maybe I'll have more success here.

Okay, I don't remember much, but here's what I can tell you about the film I'm looking for:

- It was an animated short, probably released some time in the 1980s. I believe it was cut-out animation, but I could be mistaken; in any case it looked like cut-out animation.

- Its main character was a middle-aged man with black-rimmed eyeglasses.

- I believe there was no spoken dialogue.

- Objects moved and flew of their own accord, including cups and saucers. Cups and saucers seemed to be one of the main visual motifs.

- At one point the old man undergoes a transformation and his nose becomes a cup and his ears become saucers. He keeps moving his saucer-ears back and forth.

- The old man becomes very small and rides aboard a flying kitchen appliance of some kind.

- The ending contained a dedication to a man who was apparently meant to be the subject of the film (maybe the father or husband of the director?). The dedication also states that the man had been missing for some time.

- I saw it many, many years ago on Showtime. In those days, between movies in order to fill time they'd sometimes show short films, and these were frequently animated shorts.

There you go. I wish I had more information to give you, but I hope that's enough to spark someone else's memory. I've tried doing an advanced search here at IMDb, and I've also done a lot of Google searching, all to no avail. Please tell me someone can help!! 😖
